Client: Social Enterprise Berkshire
Project: Upgrade of Network and PCs
Website: www.seberkshire.org
Social Enterprise Berkshire approached us looking for a company to support their existing network and PCs. One key factor in their ICT strategy was to upgrade their existing systems and applications from old slow Windows '98 PCs to faster new Windows XP machines, and also to allow for more additional users at a later point. The PCs and server were replaced over three days and with minimal downtime, with all users set up with roaming user profiles so any staff member could essentially "hot desk" anywhere. This was a new feature which made life for their staff much easier, as they could now use any machine to do their work on!
We worked with Social Enterprise Berkshire to form their ICT usage, business continuity and internet usage policies. We currently provide ongoing network and PC support as well as providing hosting for their email and web site.

Client: Indian Community Centre
Project: Six New PCs, Three Existing PCs and One Wireless Laptop Installation
Website: N/A
The Indian Community centre is part of UKonline and were awarded some funding to refresh their aging ICT technology at the centre. We helped them determine the equipment that should be kept and what should be donated to other users on the centre. We upgraded the speed of their internet connection from 512KB to 2MB, whilst swapping to a much cheaper Internet provider to save on their ongoing monthly costs.
Six new PCs and 17" flat panel monitors were required, which were identically configured with their usual software suite and our recommendations. A laptop and wireless connection was also set-up and then tested for connectivity throughout the building. The centre now benefits from a more up to date system with far less problems and associated downtime! |
